This study investigated the influence of sintering holding time on flexural strength of dental CAD/CAM zirconia. Thirty specimens of dental CAD/CAM zirconia were sintered at 1,500¡É applying three holding times(0, 2 and 5 h). The 3-point flexural strength of all specimens were measured with a universal testing machine, and analyzed by one-way ANOVA. The microstructural change was measured by FE-SEM and X-ray diffraction analysis were performed to estimate the phase transformation. The highest flexural strength was observed in groups sintered holding time of 2 hours(GS2 group). The flexural strength of the all specimens were not significantly different(p£¾0.05). The increase of sintering time, the grain size of zirconia will increase and result in a decrease of flexural strength. Based on the present study, it could be considered that the ideal sintering condition of 1,500¡É for 2 hours is recommended for the better strength.
